The Good Witch Cocktail

Ingredients

Ice cubes 

Ice sphere (if available)

2 ounces single malt Scotch whisky

3/4 ounce Strega

3/4 ounce honey simple syrup 

3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice

Pinch salt

Instructions

Fill a rocks or double Old Fashioned glass with ice cubes or a large ice sphere.

Combine the whisky, Strega, honey simple simple syrup, lemon juice and salt in a cocktail shaker and fill with additional ice. Shake vigorously until chilled.

Double-strain the cocktail by holding a small, conical fine mesh strainer between the shaker tin with a Hawthorne strainer (or a cobbler shaker with its built-in strainer) and the cocktail glass. Pour the cocktail through both strainers into the prepared glass. Serve immediately.

About the recipe

We call this the Good Witch because it uses Strega, an Italian herbal liqueur, which means “witch” in Italian.
